Changes
I have now run out of things to write about each week, so will be stopping producing the newsletter on a weekly basis, and it will become a monthly newsletter, being sent to your inbox on the first Monday of each month.
It’s been almost 2 years since I first started writing about my life here, and if nothing else, hope that you have learnt a little about the beautiful country of Malta and the sister islands of Gozo and Comino.
I also hope you have found entertaining some of the strange/funny things that have happened to me in that time when I was in the process of setting up a new life for myself.
In July, I will have been living in Malta for three years. I really don’t know where the time has gone, but I continue to enjoy good health (apart from my recent bout of Covid), and although I am now 70 years old, I’m hoping to have a few more years enjoying the sun and the slow pace of life here. There really is nothing better at this time of the year, than getting up in the morning and having a leisurely breakfast on the balcony of my apartment in the sunshine, and then having the difficult decision of whether I can be bothered to take the 3 minute walk to the beach to go swimming, or go to the supermarket to buy groceries.
The weather is warming up nicely, and things are getting back to life in the Mediterranean. The wealthy owners of boats are returning and paying high prices I’m sure, to moor up in Mellieha Bay, and the tourist excursion boats and buses are also back ready to make a lot of money over the summer period, and many of the local restaurants have changed their menus over the winter to cater for the 2023 tourists.
Until next month, take care and look after yourself.
